The Jason Foundation

After his son, Jason, tragically died as a result of suicide in 1997, Clark Flatt founded the Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI) in order to help end the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide.

A non-profit organization headquartered in Hendersonville, Tennessee, JFI provides invaluable resources and programs in communities throughout the United States. Mr. Flatt’s efforts include raising awareness and establishing accessible programs and services for community members so that at-risk youth can be identified and helped.

North Tampa Behavioral Health is the local JFI affiliate located in Florida, and is where students, parents, school personnel, and others in the area can receive the materials and programming information that will assist them in helping young people in the Florida area.

In the state of Florida:

In Florida:

  • Suicide is the second leading cause of death for middle and high school age youth (12 – 18).
  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death for college age youth (18 – 22).

The Florida Youth Risk Behavioral Survey reported:

  • Almost 1 out of 7 young people seriously considered suicide in the past twelve months
  • Almost 1 out of 13 young people attempted suicide in the past twelve months

As a national leader in raising awareness and supplying prevention programs to combat youth suicide, JFI supplies information, training, and services at no charge. To learn more about JFI or request youth suicide awareness and prevention materials, contact North Tampa Behavioral Health or visit the JFI website at https://jasonfoundation.com.

North Tampa Behavioral Health was the only treatment near me that was able to help me make the breakthrough I needed. I can't recommend them enough!
